Up to two trash containers are provided to West Salem Residents at no charge. Republic Services normally picks up trash on Thursdays in West Salem. Trash containers may be placed at the curb/street on Wednesdays and should be removed from the curb/street by Fridays. Trash containers should be stored next to your house or garage/shed. They should not be left at the curb/street. Leaving your trash container at the curb could result in a fine of $50.00 or more.
An additional trash container is an extra $5.00 per month. If you need a new trash container, or would like an additional trash container, call Village Hall during business hours at 618/456-3167.
For items that do not fit into the trash containers, West Salem typically has two extra/bulk trash pickups each year. The next bulk trash pick up is on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
