Love West Salem Community Outreach is sponsoring a Fall Festival from  3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the Village Square. This is a public event featuring hay rides, pumpkin painting, bounce house, and more. For more information contact West Salem First Christian Church at (618) 456-8563.

Official ‘Trick-or-Treat’ hours for the Village of West Salem are 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, October 31, 2025. Residents: If you wish to welcome trick-or-treaters – please leave your front porch light on. Trick-or-Treaters: Please only visit houses that have a front porch light on.  

A Community costume Contest and Trunk-or-Treat event sponsored by the Friends of the West Salem Public Library and the Volunteer Firemen's Association of West Salem will be held on Halloween. Costume Contest begins at 5:00 PM Trunk-or-Treat will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

The monthly meetings of the West Salem Volunteer Fire Department are open to the public. Meetings are held at the Fire Station next to Village Hall.

Village Hall will be closed for Veterans' Day on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Utility Payments may be made online,  or placed in the mail slot just to the east of the entrance doors of Village Hall.
